Crossing the Border to Sonoran Spa Resort: What to Expect

If this is your first trip to Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), don't worry! Once you cross the Lukeville/Sonoyta border, you're only about an hour away from relaxing on the beautiful beaches of the Sea of Cortez.

The drive to Sonoran Spa Resort is easy and well-marked. Simply follow Highway 8 toward Puerto Peñasco, then head toward Sandy Beach. Our condo is located at:

One of the most important tips we can give you is to always obey the posted speed limits. Speed limits change as you travel through different areas, and they're strictly enforced. Take your time, enjoy the scenery, and remember, you're on vacation!

Need to Pick Up Supplies?

There are plenty of places to stop along the way if you need snacks, drinks, groceries, or other vacation essentials. Some popular grocery stores include:

• Ley Supermarket

• Bodega Aurrera

• Super del Norte

• Sam's Club (membership accepted)

• OXXO convenience stores throughout town

Whether you forgot sunscreen, need ingredients for dinner, or want to stock up on drinks for your stay, you'll have no problem finding what you need.

Arriving at Sonoran Spa Resort

When you arrive at the gated entrance, the security staff will greet you and ask for your name, your condo number, and your vehicle's license plate number. Simply let them know you're staying at Sonoran Spa and provide your room number and floor.

The resort is gated with 24-hour security, making it a comfortable and welcoming place for families, couples, and groups.

Once you're through the gate, head to the front desk to check in and receive your resort wristbands. These bracelets give you access to all of the resort amenities during your stay.

Settle In and Start Relaxing

After a day of traveling, you don't have to leave the resort if you don't want to.

Enjoy dinner and drinks at the Sonoran Grill Restaurant, located right on the property. It's a great place to unwind while enjoying beautiful ocean views.

Need something you forgot? Stop by the onsite convenience store for snacks, drinks, ice, toiletries, and other essentials.

If relaxation is at the top of your vacation list, treat yourself to a massage or spa treatment at La Spa Full Service Spa, conveniently located inside the resort.

Everything Is Within Walking Distance

One of the things we love most about Sonoran Spa is how convenient everything is.

Just outside the front gate, you'll find restaurants, beach bars, shops, convenience stores, and local businesses within walking distance.

Some popular places nearby include:

• Pool Bar 

If you'd rather explore town without driving, taxis are usually waiting near the front entrance and can take you anywhere in Puerto Peñasco, including the Malecón, local shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.
